Meet new employees


Please welcome Lukas Phillip as the new Fillmore County Extension educator, 4-H Youth Development. Lukas comes to us with a bachelor’s in environmental studies and a long 4-H career as a member and volunteer in Iowa 4-H. Lukas has experience in classroom teaching, as well as facilitating environmental out-of-school time educational opportunities and camps. Lukas currently works for Luther College as assistant director of student activities and student program coordinator. Lukas will join Extension on Sept 13.


Congratulations to Adam Stevermer on being hired as the full-time Extension educator, 4-H Youth Development, in Mower County. Adam is currently the interim Extension educator in Mower County and will begin the permanent position Sept. 13. Adam has a bachelor’s in agricultural education from the University of Minnesota and has experience as an intern, interim and full-time staff in Minnesota 4-H programs. He has a passion for agriculture and teaching, working with volunteers, and developing youth in leadership roles. We look forward to his continued work in Mower County.


Welcome Jessica Moreno as Extension educator, 4-H Youth Development, Mower County. She is currently the Mower County 4-H STEM club coordinator. Jessica has a bachelor’s from the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska, and has a wealth of experience working with youth, children and families. Her position will concentrate on community engagement and outreach, developing and supporting out of school programs. Jessica began the new position on Aug. 30.


Jennifer Aranda began her role as a leadership and civic engagement educator based in the Moorhead Regional Office on Aug. 23. Jenn has a doctorate in educational administration and leadership and a master’s degree in training and development. She brings with her over 10 years of experience in four- and two-year institutions working with adult and traditional-age English language learners and historically marginalized students. She has a background in strategic planning, grant writing, leadership development/training, community engagement, culturally sensitive pedagogy and integrating technology into the classroom. Jenn has a strong background in equity and inclusion and has been recognized for her community engaged work.
